Reanalyze Placeholders New

When you update your template file or make changes to your HubSpot properties, you can re-run placeholder analysis to ensure everything is correctly mapped. PDF CreateMate scans your document, extracts all placeholders, and matches them against your HubSpot properties.

When to Reanalyze

You should reanalyze placeholders when:

  • You uploaded a new version of your template file with added or removed placeholders
  • HubSpot properties changed — new properties were created or existing ones renamed
  • Placeholder expressions were updated — changes to formatters, conditionals, or default values
  • Unmatched placeholders need re-checking — after creating the missing properties in HubSpot

How to Reanalyze

  1. Open your template in the Template Builder
  2. Navigate to the Placeholders step
  3. Click Re-analyze Document
  4. Wait for the analysis to complete

PDF CreateMate will scan the stored template file and return updated results.

Reanalysis happens automatically when you enter the Placeholders step of the builder with a validated document. You can also trigger it manually at any time.

Understanding the Results

After reanalysis, each placeholder is categorized:

Status Meaning
Matched The placeholder maps to an existing HubSpot property
Unmatched No matching HubSpot property found — you can create it from the builder
Invalid The placeholder has a syntax error (e.g., missing closing braces)

The summary shows:

  • Total placeholders — every occurrence in the document
  • Unique placeholders — count of distinct placeholder expressions
  • Matched / Unmatched / Invalid counts
Unmatched placeholders will appear as empty values in generated documents. Make sure all placeholders are matched before publishing.

Fixing Unmatched Placeholders

If the analysis finds unmatched placeholders, you have two options:

  1. Create the property in HubSpot — Use the Create Property button directly from the builder to add the missing property
  2. Fix the placeholder in your template — Update the placeholder name in your Word document to match an existing HubSpot property, then re-upload

After making changes, run the analysis again to confirm everything is matched.
